As Allah Al-Mighty has made the land of Sindh (Pakistan) fertile,
rich in minerals and full with natural resources so has He bestowed
it with the gross piety and sublime spirituality. This piece of
Earth has been made a gateway of Islam from where the people of
IndoPak received the message of Islam and the wealth of belief. This
piece of land is also proud of the fact that from its fertile grains
of soil Allah Al-Mighty, with His secret power, bore many pious
people, the followers of Islam and flawless saints. These people who
are the men of civility, friendship, piety, mystique, confessional
and orthodoxy made the people of this territory aware of the
sublimity of humanity with their spiritual thoughts, saintly vision
and supreme character. They achieved the highest position in the
world of miraculous and mysterious ideologies. They provided those
people the access to meet Allah Al-Mighty and His Beloved Prophet
(Peace be upon him). Those who did not eschew from illicit worldly
affairs, characterless things and the worst customs of society,
instead they loved them, purified their minds with saintly words.
The gracious spiritual lord and the man of piety and Gratitude
Hazrat.
MUHAMMED QASIM MASHORI
is one of them whose personality needs no
introduction. Every one in the sub-continent knows him as a man of
supreme knowledge, religious scholar, an ardent lover of Holy
Prophet (Peace be upon him), polite, generous, civilized, reverend
to the descendents of the last Prophet of Allah (Peace be upon him),
the lord of Shariah and a lord of consecration.
The birth of pious Lord:
His honour was born on
12 Rabi ul
Awal, 1316 (Hijra) i.e. 1898
AD, at about third quarter of Monday
night at village Sahib Khan Mashori, district Larkana. He was a born
lord. Since childhood he remained neat and clean with Heavenly
habits. His mother never fed him without ablution. Even when she had
offered him feed without ablution he had not taken it. His honour
never wasted time in playing like other children. His father said
about him that he had neither eschewed like other babies for
eatables or other worldly things nor did he ask for money. Since
childhood he was pious, passionate and thankful. His honour told us
that “when the child is in his single shirt, (A little one) from
that period till today I never left saying prayers and recalling the
name of Allah and Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him).
Ancestry:
His honor’s forefathers came in Sindh from Shoran Nari which is
known as “Shoran Baluchistan”, district Dadar and settled here. He
is son of Hajji Muhammad Usman Mashori who was true Muslim, pious
and religiously perfect person. He was the true disciple of Peir
Syed Imam Din Shah Rashdi (May Allah shower His blessings upon him).
Ancestors: Hazrat Allama Al-Hajj
Muhammad Qasim s/o Muhammad Usman s/o Muhammad Nihal s/o Allah Bux
s/o Yar Muhammad s/o Piyaro s/o Shah Muhammad.
Yar Muhammad had six sons: 1. Sahab
Khan 2. Budho khan 3. Allah Bux 4. Adho Khan 5. Dodo 6. Muhammad
Paryal.
His honour is from the descendents of
Allah Bux. Tree of the descendents of Allah Bux: Allah Bux his son
Nihal Khan his son Hajji Muhammad Usman who had two sons; 1, Hazrat
Allama Muhammad Qasim Mashori Sharif 2, Muhammad Nihal Khan who died
in his youth.
Education:
His honour’s early education took
place in a simple way under the guidance of his parents. He learnt
reciting Holy Quran at his lovely mother. His mother was worshiper
and regular reciter of Holy Quran. She was the true disciple of
Hazrat Thullah sharif. After completing the basic education of Holy
Quran he went to village “Mullan Abro” where he sought admission in
the madaris of Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Alam Abro for further
education. Maulana Muhammad Alam Abro was celestial, confessional
and religious scholar. He was also a true devout. Because his honour
was very genius, brainy and God gifted and moreover Allah Al-Mighty
needed his services for religion so he completed his Persian
education up to Bahardanish at Maulana Muhammad Alam Abro.
After completing initial education at
local teacher his celestial father took him for higher education to
Hazrat Allama Gulam Umar Jatoi the well known scholar of Madirsa
“Darulfaiz” at village Sona Jatoi near the bank of the river Sindh.
At the age of 12 he came to study here. It was 1327 (Hijra) i-e 1908
AD.
Ritual of Turban Hood:
His honour’s ritual of turban hood
took place in 1339 (Hijra) i-e 1920ADat “Madirsa Dar ul Faiz”
village Sona Jatoi district Larkana under the auspices of Hazrat
Allama Abul faiz Ghulam Ummar Jatoi.
His Character:
All the engagements of his 94 years
age are the symbol for us like an open book written at an exemplary
character. Seeing his sublime character and civility his opponents
were saying prayers behind his leadership and were begging for
prayer for their betterment from him. He was so trustworthy that the
things kept with him were being returned back without touch. Even
currency notes were not being changed because he used to say, “It is
also dishonesty to return changed notes.” When ever a beardless
person came to him he embraced him with love resultantly when the
same person returned next time he came with beard. It was his
character and mysticism which made alien his own. He himself was
true Mujahid and attended trainings at Larkana to fight against the
enemies of Islam. He invited the rulers of time to remain aware of
the situation in his speeches.
His Conversation:
His conversation was always full of
wit, semantic, effective and meaningful. It usually attracted the
listeners and well wishers and was laying ever lasting effect over
the minds of audience. His reply had been subtle, precise and
argumentative. During conversation participants were being asked to
be precise. He himself was not speaking fast; usually his tone of
conversation remained soft and slow. When ever his honour delivered
speech his voice sounded good, at times this lord was weeping but
his sound never became coarse, words coming from his throat seemed
pearls falling out of oysters. His honour usually quoted these words
Allah Al-Mighty says or Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) says and
talked about love with Allah Al-Mighty and Holy Prophet (Peace be
upon him) which was an advice to the listeners. His voice was so
sweet and effective that the minds of students were being changed
from worldly affairs to Allah AL-Mighty.
His temperament:
His temperament was balanced, neither
very soft nor hard. He showed mildness even in anger. His mind was
helpful, friendly who felt difficulties of others his own. He was so
friendly to others if ever a person came to tell him his own pains
his honour wept with him, consoled him and prayed for him.
Tolerance, love, loyalty and friendliness were his good
virtues so every body was thinking that his honour was friendlier
with him only. With the power of love and attraction he moulded the
people towards him without thinking about his worldliness.
Physical Appearance:
1.
He was neither tall
nor short, but little bit taller than moderate.
2.
His complexion was
fair.
3.
His Body structure
was beautiful, straight and tender.
4.
Bone structure of
body was also fair, hard and wide open.
5.
Arms were straight
lengthy with vast wrist.
6.
Biceps were
powerful.
7.
He had a wide chest
which was full with spiritual knowledge. Fragrance was coming from
it.

Fingers of hands
were large, straight but little bit fatty.
9.
Hands were soft and
wide.
10.
Calves were thin
and large.
11.
Feet were smooth,
tender, neat and flashy. There was a mole on the back of the right
foot.
12.
His head was in
round shape with beautiful structure full with Sharia hair cut. The
center of the head was not thick in hair. His honour told that there
was the little hair at the center of the head of Peir Roze Dani also
(May Allah Al-Mighty shower blessings upon him).
13.
This spiritual
lord’s brow was smooth and shining. When ever his honour felt
anguish at any Sharia problem he twisted his brow.
14.
His face was
bright, beautiful, round and rosy which was full with wit and
wisdom. There were signs of thinking on his shining face.
15.
Cheeks were
charming, attractive and without blots.
16.
The eyes were
black, beautiful and bewitching. There was a little mole near his
one eye.
17.
Eye brows were
large but well looking.
18.

and prominent.
19.

and rosy like rose petals.
21.
Teeth were white
like pearls.
22.
Armpits were white

23.
Beard was equal to
the fist which covered his chest. During the last sovereignty of
life his beard became more bright, shining and captivating than
before. With the ultra white beard this mighty lord looked like full
moon of the month.
His Marriage:
His marriage took place in the year
1337 (Hijra) i-e 1918 AD before completing education. Hazrat Peir
Thullah sharif and his reverend teacher attended it. She was the
daughter of his relative Allah Bux Mashori. She was the true
follower of Islam, a pious, worshiper, a perfect reciter of Holy
Quran and other things of Islam. She served her husband throughout
the life. At that time there weren’t grinding machines so she used
to grind the grains with her hands and served the meals to the
guests and students of the Madersa. Students and disciples called
her “Mother of Meals”.
Ring:
His honour had a ring made of silver,
a stamp was inscribed over it, and when ever he had to give decision
according to Sharia law he had been affixing it on stamp papers. The
words written on the ring were:
مژدہ باد اے دل خدا معطیٰ محمد قاسم است
Translation: O heart! It is a herald and prediction whose
Allah Al-Mighty is giver and Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is
distributor. Neither had he put on any ring in his finger nor wrist
watch.
Fragrance:
He loved pure and non alcoholic
perfume. Very often he used to come with attractive perfume early in
the morning. Sweet smell was coming from his sweat. Never ever there
came bad smell from the lover part of their left arm. His hands
always remained perfumed. When ever his honour put his hand on the
head of any child or any cloth his special fragrance was coming from
it and the disciples could guess that it was the fragrance of that
particular leader. From perfumes his honour used musk. He told that
Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) loved Musk that is why I am using
it. Except it other perfumes like rose, umber etc were being brought
from Madina Munawara for him. He did not use spray perfumes
(Colognes) because according to him there was alcohol mixed in it
which was unlawful like wine. He said alcoholic perfumes should not
be sprayed over clothes. Except it he did not use talcum powder or
cream.
His clothes:
He used to put on white clothes. His
shirts remained under the knees which were without pockets. He used
to keep the length of his trousers over the ankles. His clothes were
according to the season, thick in winter and thin in summer. This
spiritual lord never put on pair of socks, sweater and under shirt.
In winter he was putting on coat raped with green woolen shaal.
First of all he was putting on white coloured shaal later on green.
During winter season he was wearing turban with head kerchief
brought from Madina with black linings on his shoulders. And in
summer a thin and white kerchief was being put on cap by him. He was
also wearing turban on Friday, Eid or at invitations. The colour of
his turban had been white. After putting on turban he used to look
at mirror. This lord’s turban had been neither long nor short but
moderate and looked suitable, perfect in round shape and prominent
on his head. There had been a beautiful tail on the back of the
turban. He never put on cuff, collar or sherwani (West coat) in his
life nor did he put on coloured clothes. He used to take a piece of
clean cloth in his hand. When his honour was wearing clothes, the
first thing he was putting on was cap then shirt and after it
trousers from right side to left.
His Shoes:
His honour used to put on Multani
Khusa (Shoes). He used heelless shoes worked with silver or golden
coloured thread. When ever he had to put on new shoes first he
rubbed oil over it then after doing ablution he was wearing it. Some
times the colour of new shoes seemed touching to his feet. The new
pair of shoes was being put on Monday or Friday by him later on he
was saying prayer as a token of thankfulness. One day he said prayer
with the new shoes in his feet and told me what to do after putting
on new pair of shoes. I replied “may enemy remain down” and he said
“for ever”. Later he said that our enemy is Satin and we said this
for him and not for other person. After putting on a new pair of
shoes he used to say special prayer as thanks to Allah Al-Mighty.
His Vehicle:
His honour had not purchased his own vehicle. He rode over horse,
camel, jeep, car, aero plane and ship. Fakir Muhammad Bux Jamali
quotes: once I brought a mare for him to ride which was harsh enough
to sit on its back. Comrades became angry and said why I had brought
such an animal? When my lord heard this he said we are making rough
to right. He rode that mare which ran smoothly.
Respect for Kabtullah:
This spiritual lord told that while circling Kabtullah you must keep
in mind its sanctity. “Keep your eyes down while circling it and
while doing so never think about worldly affairs.” Those are sacred
places where ideas are also coming under interrogation. At other
places any sin or crime is counted as single one but in the boundary
of Kabtullah it is counted as 0.1 million. His honour had forbidden
from speaking during circling. He also advised that when you wish to
kiss Hijr e Aswad do not press others or cry but pray to Allah
Al-Mighty and take permission from Him then if it becomes possible
advance for kissing.
Respect for Madina:
His Honour respected the Madina city very much. When ever he went
Madina to perform Hajj or Ummrah he never attempted to use toilet
into the compound of city or spitted on the way or in streets there.
More over at the time of call of nature he was using clods of earth
for purity of body and clothes which he carried from Pakistan as a
token of respect for the land of Madina. It was also his habit
that he did not use the name of Saudi Arabia while going to Madina.
For this he said, “We are not concerned to Saudia. But better to say
I am going to Madina or Hijaz Muqadas.” He said, “If a person can’t
adjust the climate and food of Madina i-e his belief is weak. He
must repent because the climate of Madina is adjusted to those who
are pious and Momin.
Respect for Holy Quran:
He was reciting Holy Quran slowly and peacefully. He used to weep
and begged mercy when there is written about any calamity. At that
time these words were coming on his lips,”اللھم
اجرنا من النار"
He never spoke during the recitation of Holy Quran. If it had been
necessary to speak he kept Quran closed, prayed and then talked.
Once while reciting,”وامتازو
اليوم ايھا المجرمون“
he woke till morning. When this spiritual lord used to say prayers
at every third quarter of night he recited such a long verses of
Holy Quran that his feet wrenched. During the recitation of Holy
Quran when he had to bow down before Allah Al-Mighty, he had closed
the Quran, got up and then bowed down. It was all his respect for
Holy Quran.
Respect for Parents:
He respected his parents very much. He faced their hard and fast
talk with respect and regard. When ever he had been in anger, if at
that time his father came there and forbade him to show anger; his
angry mood had been changed into smile. His mother had died earlier
so after prayers and teachings this lord, before going to house,
used to open the window of the Mosque to see the grave of his mother
later on he was going to kiss the hands of his father as mark of
homage. It is interesting to note that his father studied few books
of syllabus and the book of Hadith ‘Mishikat ul Masabih’ at him when
he opened his own religious school. It was queer enough that father
was the student of his own son. Students of this school used to call
his father ‘Dada Sain’ i-e grandfather. His father loved his loving
son very much. He used the word “Sain” when he needed to call him.
Respect for Teachers:
His honour always went to his teachers on foot during his period of
youth or later on. Owing to the respect of teachers he did
not use vehicles while going there. After getting down to safety
part of the river he used to put off his shows and walked
barefooted. During the old age when this spiritual lord had become
weak enough to walk he went on jeep but before reaching to their
village he usually got off and walked on foot. As was his custom all
those who accompanied him were saying prayer in mosque then were
going to the grave of their teacher for paying homage. He used to
weep there bitterly. While going there he was taking many eatables
with him like sugar, tea, ghee, and biscuits etc which were being
sent to the house of teacher. He used to give money to the sons and
grand sons of the teacher there. If a person came from the village
of Sona Jatoi his honour respected him very much and was giving special food to him.
More over he even respected the Jatoi tribe because of his teacher.
Respect for own
Spiritual Leader:
The lord of thousands disciples respected his own spiritual leader
very much. Not only he respected him but had same regards for his
descendents too. Even he honoured the villagers of this village very
much. He did not keep the direction of his feet towards the side of
his spiritual lord throughout his life. Once the members of family
kept his bed at the direction of southward where there was the
village of his spiritual leader, when his honour saw this he did not
sit on it but asked them to change its direction. Keeping the
respect in mind he usually went to his village on foot either in his
life or after it. During the last period of life when he had become
weak enough to walk he used vehicles but before entering into
village his custom was to get down from that vehicle and walk on
foot to see him. One day he needed a clod of earth to purify the
part of body; one of his disciples brought it from nearby area, when
he gave him his honour asked, “Where from did you bring it”. The
disciple replied that he brought the nearby area. He became angry
and said, “Foolish you have brought this from the land of my
spiritual guide.” Taking it in his hand he kissed it and ordered him
to throw it at the same place. When ever the grand son of Hazrat
Peir sahib had come to him his honour respected him very much. He
used to give him clothes and other things as a gift. Warm welcome
was being accorded at their arrival at Dargah Mashori sharif as
standing up, kissing their hands and following them when they
walked. They were being invited on the days of celebrations and the
chair of honour was being given to him there. Once a younger child
from the family of his spiritual leader, without writing his name,
wrote him that they haven’t milk for tea so they needed goat for
milk. In response to this letter my lord sent them buffalo instead
of goat. The death of his beloved made him so sad that he became
very weak. He kept on weeping in his house for many years. When ever
he talked about his spiritual leader he shaded tears.
Hazrat Mian Hakim Shah says once this lord went to the Dargah Hazrat
Peir sahib at the time when compound wall was being constructed. He
sat near the grave of Peir sahib on muddy floor. He put both his
hands on the grave and then on face and later on he recited some
thing. When he got up the dust was seen on his clothes. I tried to
wipe up the dust from his clothes but he refused. I requested that
it was dust but the lord of lords replied no it is not dust but a
pious thing.
Etiquettes:
He never kept his legs straight either sitting with other people or
alone. Neither sat at the support of arm nor used large pillow to
support his back. His lord had not the habit of sitting cross legged
on chair. It was his habit to sit bent legged. The position of the
sitting of this spiritual leader showed that he was not proud of any
thing. He never laughed loudly but smiled only. While smiling he
always put cloth over his mouth. He forbade jumping over any person
or stick or walking with shoes in feet on a piece of cloth.
His
patience and cruelties of his neighbours:
His neighbours had always jealously against him. At the inception of
his carrier he faced difficulties given by relatives and neighbours.
At times these people troubled his honour but he remained silent.
When this pious person opened religious school there his neighbours
closed his entrance so students and followers were constricted. At
the time of need my gracious lord had to take them out through his
home. He didn’t loss his heart even at this juncture. Then his
relative Hajji Karim Bux came there and asked him to knock the door
of law. At that time he was sitting in Mosque, he replied that they
were sitting in the house of Allah Al-Mighty, The Lord of all lords;
and he knows them and their position. Leaving the door of His house
we would not go elsewhere. What happened later on that those who had
closed the street quarreled among themselves? Some of them went to
knock the door of law. Mukhtiarkar (In charge of sub-district)
taluka Dokri sent his office superintendent to settle the matter but
before his arrival they cleared the path. He warned them that the
person who closed the path in future would be sent to prison. This
gracious lord said that the Sunnah of Holy Prophet (Peace be upon
him) was fulfilled. Mercy and love was his motto. He never cursed
any body nor called ill names to any person. It was his custom that
the villagers were being called on the day of Eid festival to dine
with him. Un-fortunately any person fell ill from those who insulted
him his honour used to see him at his house.
Hospitality:
He was very much generous. His hospitality was beyond any doubt.
Every type of people, rich or poor, host or guest came there without
hindrance to take food which still continues.
Celebrations of Eid
Milad al Nabi:
He was celebrating the day of Eid Milad Nabi with full fervor and
enthusiasm. 12fth of Rabi al Awal was being entertained
as an Eid. On this occasion rice and meals were being cooked for
masses and his lord was happily offering his guests to take meals.
Food was being kept ready for all people who were attending that
occasion. This day is being celebrated every year at his Darbar now.
People from every nook and corner and from abroad like SaudiArbia
gather to attend this function.
